This picture was taken by my eldest son in our backyard, during the COVID-19 quarantine. I was never a “classic beauty”, but I like this photo because it’s very me: I'm wearing my hair straight back in a ponytail, minimal makeup, in comfy shoes, white jeans, and a 20-year-old jacket from H&M. Mostly, I like it because he made me laugh! It also reminds me that even during the darkest times, we can always find ways to be happy right where we are. I think a happy face is a great face, no matter what. Here’s to less “perfection,” and more being happy with our genuine selves.
